One of the things that outsiders tend not to immediately grok about Silicon Valley, because it's so friendly, open, and accessible, is that personal loyalty is unquestionably the one value that rules all the rest by a mile. It's as strong as in mafia or Trump inner circles.

Perhaps you're right. Though I think you don't give adequate credit to the people who have that intuition and therefore perhaps antagonistic sentiment who never register, they just quietly go about their business building 'silent majorities' that cause cultural inflections

Properly articulating the cliff between integrity and loyalty only to then conclude "most people don't get it" reads like peak SV hubris. To your credit, you're consistent and even cohesive in comparing SV integrity to genpop integrity. But that's the mistake!
