Normally I'm inclined to give benefit of doubt on product vision to founders/company even for social products. Opinionated design beats "user-driven" design. But when you start throwing terms like "public," "town square," "citizen" and "democracy" around, the game rules change.

I don't think the *current* real public wants what Elon claims it wants. But hey, exits and entries can make the two line up. So let's see how the "public" shifts in response to the Menckenian democracy being implemented here.

Curious: what do you make of more than a quarter of the respondents being founders / VC's? I'm reminded of Douglas Adams' facetious observation that if you randomly poll people you'll discover than the median person is CEO of a company and made $3 million last year...
