Uber trip my wife booked for her mom from Vegas airport to her home somehow “continued” past the drop off. My wife then hit canceled and there’s now a $79 trip with “canceled” on it with wrong start/end points instead of the quoted $55 or so. She’s filed a complaint. Scam? Bug?

Rideshare gets more painful every time now. It’s going downhill like Airbnb. It’s become a shitty game on an obscure gaming app.

Sounds like a scam, driver didn’t end trip.
If you’re having issues with support, they seem to prioritize quick resolution if you get them on the phone.

This has happened since day one, usually just a mistake by driver not realizing they didn’t end the trip and wanting to head home or something. If you click “activity” in the app you can report an issue with the trip and get a refund for the issue.

Attempted scam. Root cause is same as DoorDash drivers occasionally sampling or flat-out eating your food: gigs so lousy that people don’t care whether they lose them or not.

There are shuttle options in Vegas cheaper than an Uber, at least the last time I was there pre pandemic
