this was somehow built in the 1950s, right around the time the rest of the world decided to only build ugly modern shit. paid for with community funds in a town of 10,000 people. impressive!

spoke with a local lady about how pretty all the little towns in Galicia are, all beautiful stone buildings and vineyards and orchards in the warm sun. she says they're pretty but also all half-abandoned now because the young people all moved to Madrid or other big cities

I've been drinking a ton of red wine every day here but barely even feel buzzed. I think it's because I'm in such a calorie deficit from walking 15-20 miles a day my body just immediately metabolizes the wine into energy.

Replying to
the Camino de Santiago is much more agreeable than the AT, you can get a hot shower, steak, and bottle of red waiting for you every day after walking instead of having to pitch a tent in the rain
