I'm always surprised when I hear successful people be discontent with their level of wealth/success but I guess that's part of what got them there. Genuinely don't think I have this trait. I've genuinely spent a decent chunk of adulthood thinking "this is pretty good!"

I do wonder if part of it is fear of publicly admitting that you are happy. There's a certain strain of always needing to appear driven & hungry, especially in US culture. People are often shocked when I say I don't have many big goals. Mostly just want to keep doing stuff

I think I've also always just been a bit curious: "what happens if i take my foot off the gas?" "oh, hmm - still okay, still end up doing stuff and fulfilling responsibilities" I don't know if I'm really conveying what I'm saying but I sense more people could ease off the gas

like people will say "theres no such thing as passive income!" sure but there is certainly less than grind income if there's any goal I have it's to constrain myself to less than grind income - these opportunities exist, why not go after them?
