NASA should knock one asteroid per year of course just for practice. Maybe towards Mars. Terraforming supplies and planetary defense practice in one.

been thinking a good use for all the nukes in the world: identify a bunch of comets full of nitrogen, water and co2 in the inner oort cloud that come near enough on their perigee so you could divert them towards mars.
with nukes you could perhaps effect a big enough push.
