As a free agent I don’t get paid sick days of course, but if I account for my true passive income, like book royalties, you could say I get like 15 paid sick minutes a day.

Basically I accrue a half-day a month and end up at 6 days a year. I’m DIY Denmark.

It's not 6 days a year. It's (if i understand it correctly) 60pct of salary if sick for 10 days (usually, differently long illnesses lead to different percentages of salary paid).

It's interesting that it's not always monotonic function. E.g. might be higher portion of pay for short, the less for medium long, and more again for log term.
But in Europe it's (afaik) mostly uncapped. I.e. you can be sick for a year and you'll still get 40-60pct of salary.

Not sure about other countries, but e.g. here (cze) it's 380 days at most. It has some limitations, s.a. you're actually partially limited in your freedom to move (assumption being you're sick and should be resting) and your gp needs to approve.
