Anyone know how the top self driving car AI is trained, and how close to the OpenAI state of the art they are (or rather how much should we update from gpt3 existence)?

Huh? They’re sort of not comparable. GPT is text transformers. Self-driving relies on CNNs. I don’t think open ai is in the running on anything embodied since they exited robotics. You want Comma.ai and Tesla
OpenAI is not the state of the art even in NLP… Amazon’s latest beats them. Deep Mind is better on many specialist things. AI frontier is a fan, not a spearhead with OpenAI at tip. That was briefly the case a few years ago. No longer.

Nah I get that. Was (badly) wondering how well state of the art in one tells us about state go the art in the other.

The disemodiment supremacists underestimate how embodiment creates whole different regime. I keep hearing of doing transformers on image data but not clear if that’s gotten far. But there are paradigm problems with self-driving that go even beyond that imo.
