If you had a say a ream of shredded documents, how long would it take to manually do the jigsaw? Non-crosscut? n=500 sheets to a ream, say m=20 strips to a sheet, ~10,000 comparisons for completely randomized, so ~200,000 comparisons for first sheet worst case. O(nm^2)

If scanned, it seems trivial. The edge-aligned entropy should be a strong signal. Don’t even need NSA computers. Manually… seems like it would take a very long time unless you found a heuristic. Cross-cut would be insane though.
