People are basically empathetic = warp drive
It’s a Hobbesian individualist world = force fields

Weird how nobody calls out the implausible premises of social-science fiction

I’ve heard West Wing (1999-2006!) described as star trek for leftie politics nerds. Are there other examples of such
“social science fiction” and who are they for?
I’d say Yellowstone is social science fiction for rich conservatives?
Mad Men was basically for Ayn Randians?

Interesting! Compare Western civ with 2000 years ago and the sentence “almost all humans are kind and empathetic” doesnt seem implausible at to me at all. Declines in violence, social liberalism, etc. For one thing it’s easier to be nicer when you’re waaaay richer.
