Reflecting out loud here. Seemingly the majority of systems (human, technical and otherwise) on our planet are broken or in states of collapse. Are there any you see out there actually thriving?

i, personally, believe majority of the nested systems are working great/well. i believe the issue is more surrounding the larger system narrative.

It is a category error to apply the adjective “broken” to a complex system. Complicated systems break. Complex systems merely enter hostile configurations relative to you. They’re not fixed by your functional expectations. They’re still working. Just not for you.
slightly different flavor of the thought...

The huge weakness of "culture" as a reference frame is that "not a fit for me" is VERY easy to confuse for "broken and doesn't work at all."
Nearly all cultures work. They just may not be working for you. The answer is rarely "fix culture", but to move.
