This question is a perennial obsession for me:does having lots of willpower subjectively feel like constantly putting forth immense effort to make the right choice, or doing so effortlessly? From the outside, the latter looks like extraordinary willpower, but doesn’t feel like it

I think you really have to control for raw energy on this question. "Willpower" is a function of *marginal* energy in an absolute context. Re: Byrne's point, that was what I was getting at it my old calculus of grit post
