Backing up and rating the previous ones 1.2/10 -I hate it -I really hate it! -somehow the blue center part that’s not the same as the blue knob makes it even worse -no purple -the two yellow and two oranges make me so mad -I did voluntarily purchase it I guess…

A recent offender! I like this toy, but whyyyy not switch out one of those oranges?

5/10 -no purple -given no purple I think I appreciate the pink bc it tones down the orange -embraces the chaos by switching orange and yellow is a slight positive for me -the green and blue both seem too dark? -gray cloud on white shirt seems a little odd IMO—kinda stormy?

I bought this shirt for my kid, and I think it’s cute and I like it, but it’s a rainbow with no purple! (Bonus pink though) why??

Unmodified: 5/10 -no purple -but it’s not really trying to be a rainbow, so it’s a little less offensive than usual -fairly pleasantly consistent saturation with the red a different material and more saturated, so it works for me With my links: 8/10 -I like what I did!

I added the purple links to this toy that isn’t exactly a rainbow, but has red, orange, yellow, green, and blue

Made by a child in the park (I was assuming, but I suppose it could have been a parent actually…), one of each color, v wholesome, good shape 10/10

I get it that orange and purple are the “controversial” colors and I like purple and kinda don’t like orange, but leaving out orange is in some ways objectively worse bc of the gap between red and yellow. 6/10 I guess? The other colors are nice and well (and evenly) saturated

So this one is weird it has the “every color once but two blues” thing like the stacking toy, and there’s also a pink and also what is even up with the order of the colors. I can’t tell if it’s better or worse than a random 🎲 arrangement would be 🤷🏽‍♀️ 7.5/10 I guess?

why are you looking for purple in rainbows? VIBGYOR doesn't really have a purple in it does it? Indigo is more blue register. Purple is a reddish blue you don't see in real rainbows

That is also fair. But the canonical rainbows that lack blue don’t have indigo + violet—they typically just stop at blue. If they had IV that would be great, but I think purple is a fine approximation that works well with our language for colors

lol "Scholars have noted that what Newton regarded at the time as "blue" would today be regarded as cyan, and what Newton called "indigo" would today be considered blue"

Might f around and make this a thread where I rate rainbows overall: This one is 6.5/10 -purple is the big one, which is nonstandard but I don’t mind! -prob bc “red goes on top” matters more than comparative size; fine -buuut the blues are ordered wrong according to me and 3yo
