Anyone know of data describing where the west coast homeless population came from? Ie statistics on what they were doing and where they were living before they fell through the cracks? What’s the prequel world feeding into sidewalk tent world?

When I was homeless it was commonly accepted that The West Coast was the best place to be homeless. better weather mostly (rain vs freezing to death), but also some places will give you food stamps easier and it's there's more pockets of nature to camp in than East Coast cities

lived out of a backpack for several years. traveled the country round and round. mostly hitchhiking, occasionally riding freight or in a rig. I graduated high school in 07 so it seemed like a good idea to learn banjo and become a hobo
