Following the Challenger disaster, the Rogers Commission took four months to find a culprit btwn four contractors. 13 minutes after the disaster, Morton-Thiokol's price on the market sank while the other three stabilized. Morton-Thiokol was later implicated as the culprit.

Morton Thiokol made the rocket boosters; I knew as a 6th grader that shuttle launches were often delayed because of cold weather; it was known that the boosters were good for 50 launches. And this was STS-51.

Like many others, I saw the disaster live, and the probable cause of the accident (booster failure) was IIRC quickly well-known. But you shouldn't assume the nature of correlation here. You should look at Morton-Thiokol's business prospects if shuttle missions suddenly ceased.
