solving a personal problem with money is so much easier than solving it any other way...

people who say money doesn't buy happiness are idiots; they are just not creative enough about spending it right

don't knock throwing money at problems until you've tried it

the problem is of course it takes skill to throw money at problems strategically and actually land the shot... which is not itself a problem you can throw money at easily

and people tend to throw $1000 where $1500 is required, and end up losing the whole $1000 because it is a waste...

I'm not great at *making* money, but I'm better at that than at non-money hacks, so when faced with a problem that is "Spend $1000 and find a way to make +$1000 to cover it" vs. "do this janky non-money thing" I'll always choose former unless the +$ is beyond my ability to make

There is also cutting back elsewhere to cover things somewhere, but there's only so much discretionary spend you can cut in a lifestyle budget, so I generally don't try that route

surprisingly yep... most fights are about money, and if there's more money you can generally do what both partners want without need for compromises and stuff

Money is soooooooo underrated. I think it's because money is low status to care about

yeah, because the people who typically care about it the most tend to want it for its own sake as a sort of low-class status symbol
