There’s really no such thing as plain time-rich anymore. You’re either money rich, smarts rich, or spiraling to destruction. Lots of time is no good if you’re not smart enough to turn it into some combo of money and knowledge.💀💀

Smarts = fit in a way suited to co-evolve with tech. All other kinds are going extinct. This is not about AI or IQ. Tech is now our new environment of evolutionary adaptation, EEA 2.0. What survives can be weird. Eg, right mindset to get past customer service phone trees.

The human pseudospecies that come out the other end of this evolutionary bottleneck are going to be a weird lot. It’s like when those first amphibians climbed out onto land.

Like literally whether or not you can handle phone trees might determine whether you can access enough basic services reliably to survive and reproduce 🤔

High-tech + failed states + hostile climate + corporate APIs for basic services, and weirdly distributed money tokens to access them = we’re not in Kansas anymore

Have you noticed lately it’s not just harder to get to humans in phone trees, but they’re less able to help if you do manage to get through? They’re just staring at their side of the increasingly incomprehensible API

Advanced tech is a decivilizing force but not necessarily a rewilding force. It turns the modern arbitrary into the postmodern incomprehensible. Now with AI.™ The AIs are going to generate the hold muzak soon.

Civilization is the process of turning the incomprehensible into the arbitrary.
