Goblin mode is clearly the opposite of going brrr It’s like how you have to go into a dive to recover from a stall

Those early 2020 months of going brrr were embarrassing and cringe and produced nothing but too much sourdough and shit. Let’s not do that again ok? Very undignified. Goblin mode at least has some nobility in decrepitude.

I have a theory that going brrr was about cruising along at high motivation and suddenly losing traction when Covid hit. So goal-oriented raise-the-ceiling/raise-the-bar energy went from lofty shit like winning elections to sourdough baking. Downward impedance mismatch

Goblin mode is the reverse. We were trudging along in systems/capabilities building mode. So habits-oriented raise-the-floor/lower the bar energy went from domestic projects to “let’s reboot!” Upward impedance mismatch.

When you go from worldly to domestic goals you go brrr until you shift gears to systems rebuilding When you go the other way, you stall at goblin until you find a worthwhile worldly goal

My aikido teacher said the floor (your capabilities) and the ceiling (what you perceive as possible) are both moving, so you can’t accurately assess your progress. You may feel like you are getting better but the ceiling is stuck or that you’re sliding backwards when you aren’t.
