I think I've only been through LaGuardia once in like 1999 and it was definitely a dump then. This kind of public artwork does make me wonder though... who is it for? it's like visual muzak... vaguely pleasant abstract art signifying nothing to anybody.

Wonder what kind of art I'd actually like to see in airports. I know what I *don't* like -- "Classics" -- Abstract muzak art -- Identitarian DEI art A few airports have things like hanging classic airplanes and flight-themed art. I like those.

I just flew through there a few weeks ago, I had a pretty similar reaction... i was like, wait i'm not afraid of getting gonorrhea from these seats at all! Also, is that a Shake Shack over there? Nice.

I think that kind of art gets more interesting in situations where it’s kept around long enough to become dated. Then it tells you information about the time periods in which the airport received additional funding, or did not.
