All arks are arcologies (=architected ecologies) but not all arcologies are arks Arkology is the study of arcologies that are arks Eg: Noah’s Ark, Golgafrinchan B Ark, Snowpiercer train

More loosely, anytime people get wary of larger patterns of interdependence and start banding together in relatively self-sufficient groups the world tends towards an arkological age. We’re entering one now. Dark ages are Darwinian competitions among arks.

Ark selection is when thanks to natural variation among arks, some arks survive and others don’t. For example nobody knows about Noah’s brother Chuck. Chuck’s Ark didn’t make it, and neither did dozens of others. They retconned this into god’s choice. Damn intelligent designists.

Pick your arks people. Not all arks will make it, but not being on any ark means you definitely won’t make it.

Recently I learned (RIL?) that the word for Noah’s ark ‘tebah’ is also used in Exodus 2 to describe the basket in which baby Moses was placed. A kind of savior vessel I guess
