This latest Orville plot is so mechanical you can see the joints

“Molotov-Ribbentrop all over again” has to be the most on-the-nose line of dialogue in history.
The Maklan-Krill alliance fleet is like a a bag of red and orange M&Ms
This is self-consciously a toy story made up by a couple of 12-year-old boys. Hilarious 😆

I do appreciate the sheer dgaf amateurish enthusiasm of Orville for itself. Reminds me how I am about my stories.

These vast space battle scenes are the laziest and cheapest I’ve ever seen. Like, just through in some randomized variation in the identical ships.

Nice egg doomsday device though

This level of uninspired does showcase the vast amount of tedious detail needed to do a big action finale even at a commodity minimum-viable level. This episode probably took a zillion person-hours to make

It takes a genuine story to make you forget the seams. Otherwise it’s just a machine with a million parts.

Real good bones of a story here in the season arc built around 4d intern Charli’s ironic fate. With a bigger budget and more sensitive treatment this could have been a good character drama. An anti-Ender’s Game.
