Good read by on the plastic waste discourse. Something about this topic brings out the most disingenuous kinds of commentary by activists. Possibly because it’s aesthetics clickbait. Kinda like Retvrn trads going on about ugly architecture.

Thank you for the thread! Great summary. One thing I am hopefully trying to show and that it comes through is: who do you want to try and solve these problems. Scientists and engineers or activists? I think ideally both.

I’d add: industry end-users, who often have a better handle on full-lifecycle than either. But they’re usually cast as villains. You want pure, low-additive circular economy plastics, best bet is to close loop in specific industries before it co-mingles with general waste stream.
