Weird how nothing stays young for long these days. One day it’s a few tinkerers messing around in a scene, a year later it’s a full-stack thing with specializations and conferences and VCs. The window of opportunity to get in on a worthwhile nascent scene is now like 5 minutes.

reading histories of the 1700/1800s is surreal — someone writes a book, some responds 3 years later, someone builds a prototype 4 years later, someone presents a paper 5 years later, first commercial service launched 2 years later, etc. boring!
