We can't contain the excitement for @NASAWebb's first full-color images! On Monday, July 11 at 5pm ET (21:00 UTC), President Biden will unveil one of the space telescope's first images of deep space as a preview of what's ahead: go.nasa.gov/3NUQ8Dx
The Webb telescope's primary mirror is inside a facility laying on its side, with engineers in white protective suits. The mirror's two wings that give it its honeycomb shape are not deployed in this image. Its secondary mirror, held by a long boom, is deployed in front of the primary mirror. The primary mirror is made up of multiple hexagonal mirrors assembled into one shape, and are covered in gold.

Besides the fact that it can study exoplanets better, it's pretty much just eye candy hype; nothing but the light echoed from a moment in space and time that doesn't exist anymore, having traveled long enough to be captured by this super advanced infrared space telescope.
