Good ergonomics when you’re young is mostly an investment in the future. Like retirement savings. Almost anything will work when you’re 30 because you’re deep in the interior of the Pareto. Once you hit the Pareto boundary though, the actual costs of long-term habits become clear

This is true to an extent However if you have been mostly sedentary, the initial gains curve from a good exercise regime are HUGE! Greater in first 2-3 years than experienced thereafter. Don’t underestimate Readers Digest: Never too late

I have a good office chair. I just prefer the ikea armchair 😆 My strength routine is bare min maintenance (3x5 squat, military press, deadlift 1-2x/wk) with no attempt to increase load in 10y. Even that’s become irregular thanks to gym closures. Kinda hate weights tbf.
