Increasingly thinking the founding fathers were exceptionally mediocre people who did some exceptionally mediocre thinking and even recognized it. Mixed in with some outright bad thinking,
The “proof by real world demonstration” doesn’t show what origins lists claim. Slavery was ignored and took a century to blow up in a bloody civil war and still isn’t sorted out. The demonstration is that bad thinking can be propped up by violence for centuries
The proof is that the US became the world’s most powerful, successful, influential, innovative, and richest country - all under the constitutional system
The bar in politics is pretty low, but the US has a v long track record of success
Long term survival and thriving is a perfectly fine pice of solid evidence—even if in some case you need to look in detail into the pressures it survived and possible biases of the pressures.
The real problem with the US now are the anti-constitutionalist hysterics.
Slavery was needed for labor back then.
All successful societies of the past had slaves. After industrialization, it was just not a good or profitable idea to have slaves.
Had industrialization existed in the 1700s, we wouldn't be having the stupid slavery discussion now.
