Is Dominion theology the same thing as evangelical Christianity?

And where do Southern Baptists and Mormons fit in?
Very confused by the religious right in this country.

Is it more like ISIS style Caliphate thinking or Iran-style Mahdi-ism
Or maybe BJP style Hindutva?
Patterns seem closest to Iran, except with many preachers instead of 1 Ayatollah
It would be really funny if the US turned into White Iran 🤣

And it does seem very white. I don’t see much political presence of black or Hispanic Christianity here

Bro you’re asking too many questions dawg lmao southern baptists are almost the same as the evangelicals, minus the extra spiritual fluff. Very conservative. Mormons are too, but their religions is NOT Christianity. Very different beliefs tbh.

S Baptists are another subset of Evangelical Christianity, though they're an association of more or less independent churches with some theological variation among them. Most Evangelicals wouldn't consider Mormons Christian at all, let alone Evangelical. Yep, confusing.

I can’t imagine it’s changed much but growing up Mormon in the South my baptist schoolmates would tell me I was in a cult

So there are a few major sects that make up “the evangelicals.” Baptists are the largest, followed by Charismatic/Non-denominational, Pentecostals, and (iirc) Reformed. They actually don’t get along very well in the wild.

The Religious Right in America is descended from Progressive Christianity, the same as the Secular Left. They took on a nationalist, charismatic vibe, often in midsize towns, and hitched their wagon to Reagan. This is an understudied split; Harvard vs. Bible Schools.
