In parallel, I'm going to start writing a script for my movie: Jaws: Rise of the Basilisk. A terrifying smartmouth robot in 2250 that takes uploads of you from the cloud, compiles them into humaniform robot shells, and EATS THEM ALIVE!!!

Since I just learned about peristaltic pumps, thinking about how to create an artificial oesophagus for semi-solid slurry based on the principle. I’m thinking a synchronized cam chain on a single drive…

TIL: peristaltic pumps that work by squeezing a flexible transport tube rather than forcing fluid through an impeller. This is clearly what I need for an artificial esophagus, except perhaps several on the same tube in series? adafruit.com/product/1150

or maybe like a helical cage with little wheels that press on the tube so the action would be kinda like putting your fingers around it and pulling along the length of it while twisting

A rifle barrel imparts rotation for an already moving bullet, but a rotating rifling would impart movement to a static bullet. Hmm wonder if you could design a projectile launcher by rotating it fast enough.

This idea is interestingly like the duality of e-m fields (moving conductor in magnetic field generates current, varying current in magnetic field moves a conductor)
