If US politics were Go, the Democrats probably play with a 9-stone handicap 🤔
While I get all the complaining about bad leadership, they’d really have to be as far ahead of the GOP in political skill as Go black belts are ahead of beginners to prevail.

Don’t really see the point of blaming the leadership. The political skill gap is narrow. Mitch McConnell’s legendary operator skills are a mostly a myth. Schumer, Pelosi etc don’t seem that much inferior skillwise. He just plays with a 9-stone structural advantage.

Extending the Go analogy: a 50 year precedent overturned in the way it did was rule breaking. Roe v Wade was solid territory and it melted like cotton candy in water. There’s more than just structural advantages. Republicans have a fighting spirit and a persistent can-do attitude

Republicans paid off the referees. That alone makes it hard because the public gets its cues from corporate media and doesn't actively search for news.

Biases revealed: I often see the opposite being true.
The RP seems to be good at clenching its rear and hyperfocusing on a few key things with relatively few and/or temporary setbacks, mainly judiciary nominations (and queuing people up from law school onwards to fill them).
