Wonder if we might ever evolve in ways where it’s impossible to survive without high tech. Would need a technology that lasts 1000s of years

I saw a tweet recently that said wisdom teeth extraction is on the decline and credited a change in our evolution but seems more like a business practice shift.

IIRC it's overall because of lack of jaw development due to under-use, leading to decline in presence in population. Wisdom tooth extraction became common after sedatives/painkillers. Was rare before. Primary purpose for current removals are to prevent 'crowding', ie aesthetic.

Nope. Molars did decay and by the time you were 30 you already had some room in your mouth (you can even extract you own teeth if rock them every day). Then the wisdom teeth erupt and they take over the space gracefully. So modern wisdom teeth pains are due to good hygiene

There’s a whole sect of orthodontry run by Dr Mews that tries to explain this phenomenon. Basic concept is bad posture leads to bad tongue posture which leads to small cramped mouths
