After years of crossing it on foot and car, took a walk through the literal Silicon Valley. 2 mile after-dinner walk along Saratoga creek from Santa Clara square to the Hyatt. It’s quite a lovely little wetland creek. Saw many ducks. And a skunk. Right by Intel, AMD etc.

Been coming here for work stuff for nearly a decade but never thought to do this walk. Quite a poetic juxtaposition of a fine natural tangled bank and the most high-tech Silicon one.
Prize goes to the natural one. It’s more complex than the semiconductor industry.

San Francisco is overrated, South Bay is underrated
Wouldn’t mind living here if I could afford it

I’m glad they were able to restore it reasonably well - Santa Clara is a huge Superfund site (right where you were!)

Certainly doesn’t seem too bad just walking through, compared to other industrial areas I’ve been to. I guess semiconductor pollution is much more invisible

Is this San Tomas Aquino Creek trail/Guadalupe trail? Used to bike here a lot while commuting.
Sunnyvale Baylands Park is another gem nearby.

We loved living in the south bay. Between VTA lightrail, cal train, and BART, You can get around pretty easily too.
