And I’m one of the rare people my age who remembers life before tv since the town I grew up in didn’t get tv till I was 10 It sucked. We had to go out and play and read books and shit. We’d even go over to each others’ houses in the evenings and some people would sing poorly.

A few friends had LP collections. We had a sad little tape player with about 20-30 mix tapes (we numbered them) till I was 10 and an old tube radio. I even remember some numbers. I think tape #9 was nursery rhymes I liked TV was a bigger world opening for me than internet tbf

I grew up without TV in the US, in the 80s to early 90s. I thought it sucked when I was a kid, but as I grew up I realized how much power it actually gave me. The more I learned about "marketing" the more I realized how much crap I was spared by NOT watching that shitsphere.
