Game theory is a dumb model of “life” in general. It should not be used outside of limited, well-characterized situations. Otherwise you basically get religion.

OG Prisoner's Dilemma was technically a negative sum game but more vaguely it feels like you ought to have a point. The true negative correlate ought to be a game where lack of synchronization causes players to paradoxical cooperate.

Are negative-sum games qualitatively different from a math perspective, before you get into loss aversion or w/e? Can you just whack negatives on everything?

Odd if true, because wargames are some of the oldest games we have. (I feel like most zero-sum game theory works for most negative-sum games, though that's not clear from the name.)

theory negative sum games largely occur because of principal agent problems (leaders not paying price of engaging in negative sum games) academics are paid to support the ruling class so they don’t study negative sum games because it would risk their paycheck
