curiously enough I never did get into the core prestige tv track that started it all off... sopranos onwards...now stuff like billions, succession they may be prestige but the storytelling is soap-operatic thematically

Billions is not “prestige” TV tho. It, along with most of showtime’s content (like Dexter), is just USA network level pulp but with a bigger production budget and R-rating to give it the veneer of prestige
