i keep seeing lots of popular tweets where people are disparaging other people’s countries and cultures
it makes me sad, because we all have a lot to be proud of and stand up for

Also worth noting that I was…12?…on 9/11 so it’s a difficult frame for me to understand but I’d love to hear more about your experience

I was in grad school… culture surprisingly did not turn illiberal. We got security theater and two ill conceived wars but life in America felt roughly the same vibe-wise. Trump election had 100x more vibe toxicity impact
Interesting.
Why is that? The prevalence of social media?
And how do we overcome that?
