Apparently it’s something to do with crossing a threshold and entering a new environment. when we used to live in one hut, there was a single doorway which would separate home from everything else we had going on. Entering/exiting caused a refresh

yeah sometimes I go back to the previous room to remind myself what I was up to at that point, and most of the time it works

Open offices. Open plan (residential) architecture. Wiki does not mention the doorway effect although its presence seems obvious.
