I think I mentally overcompensated for Mercator projection distortions. Greenland is not *that* small.

0.83m square miles. It looks about the same size as South America (6.9m) so it’s an ~8x distortion, but still quite big in absolute terms. About 2/3 of India. 1.27m.
If global warming makes India uninhabitable but melts Greenland ice cap making it habitable, sorta makes up 🤔

Antarctica is huge! 5.4m sq mi. Africa is 11.4, but Sahara desert is 3.5, so again potential for a bit of scooching over 🤔🤔

Our sense of geography is seriously messed up due to projection distortions and habitability. India is only 50% bigger than Greenland but probably 1000x more habitable

I’d live in Greenland except I think all their green vegetables are made from fish. Worst name ever. Who called it Greenland and why? Should have been Bleakland.
