Not really liking any of the Star Trek franchise extensions lately… Discovery, Picard, Strange New Worlds…
They’re going for a kind of dramatic-literary realism in a way the material doesn’t really support.
At least they’re not trying to go for gritty or noir

Deep Space Nine already did a better job of everything Discovery and Picard have tried to do—and DS9 did it without all the misery, grimness and thoughtlessness that's characterized NuTrek.

Strange New Worlds (so far) seems to be the best of the lot. I gave up on Discovery and Picard but am hoping for better from Strange New Worlds..

How about The Orville. I find that it omehow manages to be the most Star Trek of them all.
