No place online makes me feel as left out as LinkedIn. I *choose* not to be active on Instagram or tiktok, but on LinkedIn I’m not worthy of active presence. All I can do is post my writing links there, like an outdoor cat leaving dead mice at doorstep.
Y’all think I’m mocking. I’m not. A year ago this would have been a mockery thread. Now it’s genuine awe. You can all hang around here feeling superior about your damn Discourse, but deep down you know the LinkedIn people are simply better than us.
It’s like that movie Elysium where earth is a shitty hellhole and all the cool stock photo people live in orbit in a premium mediocre space station. LinkedIn is Elysium. Twitter is earth. For Matt Damon type lowlifes.
i am on that same path
i've liked some of your linkedin shitposts, but the sheer resilience of the "LinkedIn vibe" within LinkedIn has me in awe.
These people know something i don't. They be achievementpoasting unironically. I have no choice but to "Congratulations!" them
The sheer dedication to posting what are essentially just college entrance essays all the time…my colleagues who do it just astound me. Are they just playing the game? Or worse, are the genuinely expressing themselves?
