an annoying amount of modern infowork is some sort of transcription++...eg, paper notes into cleaned up digital notes, or personal notes into notes for sharing, or photos of whiteboards into notes... they look like they should be AI-automatable like audio transcription but aren't

often the reason to transcribe is to put them into a reviewable/resurfaceable format, and/or link them up to other notes

It depends on the end use, if it's just reference I find AI transcripts are enough to resurface relevant recordings. I still often need to listen to the recording to understand what I'm talking about with enough fidelity to recover the thread.

It might take a few different keyword searches, and I don't think I find all of what's relevant but it's a huge improvement over a heap of recordings I'll never listen to.
