I’ve been increasingly unplugged from SV in the last few years so I don’t quite have a sense of what’s going on

I no longer have the energy or interest to follow the blow-by-blow of this shit these days Just wish they’d sort it out and we can all make out exit/voice choices and get on with life. Too many damn titanic battles I kinda don’t give a shit about

I’ve had a good time on twitter but I have enough of a life beyond it that if the titans go all scorched earth with each other over it I wouldn’t really care *that* much

It’s a nice platform and we’ve had good times, but there was life before twitter and there will be life after

It feels like this is digital Ukraine on the eve of a profoundly stupid corporate war 🤔 I’m eyeing the exits to digital Poland aka discord

Feels like SV increasingly spends more time/attention on stanning technology than on technology itself. Most of the interesting conversations I’ve been having about technology in the last couple of years have been with people who are neither geographically nor spiritually in SV

It’s like technology has turned into I Fucking Love Technology!™ same as happened to science a few years ago. I guess technology is now Technology!™

Thank you everyone for coming in at such an ungodly hour. The folks at Blackrock have informed me that we need the collective brain trust here urgently to deal with this Elon offer. So - why doesn’t someone tell me what they think is going on here? 🧵

I think it’s absolutely the case. I also think this wouldn’t have come about if there wasn’t some kind of forcing function. Since the only things that seem to get Elon’s attention are X-risk things, I have to believe this has something to do with nukes and narrative control. 😳
