Thinking about "the courage to be disliked" (title of an okay book on adlerian psychology), strikes me that it doesn't take that much courage because most people choose an easier way -- simply being clever enough to dislike people before they can dislike you...

I've seen people kinda go mad with rage when their sense of their own importance (which is not necessarily off but usually is) is not validated by people around them... the courage it takes is to choose a reaction other than rage
