idk I've read a lot of pretty terrific award winning books, Saul Bellow won the Nobel and Henderson the Rain King was a triumph

but then again, taste is taste, I don't like some stuff that other people really do

I’m decidedly genre and midwit-middlebrow, generally can’t stand any literary fiction written after around 1920 or so
