Stop pretending you had a bingo card for the year
Conversation
I really dislike the bingo card metaphor. It suggests you don’t even have agency over wrongness. You are passively holding a random set of received expectations, which mostly turn out wrong. At least be wrong on your own. Pick your own lottery numbers by your own superstitions.

Curious: my general impression is that you just hate cliches, even the whiff of them (unless there's some saving grace)?

Not cliches per se. I’m full of them myself. More like shibboleth-speak.

Huh, interesting. Playing the “I’m ingroup!” game, for some value of “ingroup”? Which I guess we’re all doing - I’m doing it now - but it’s hopefully rarely the main thing we’re doing.
