DAOs are going to run into an uncanny valley problem just like coworking spaces did a decade ago -- anyone with the network and organizational talent to make one work will be tempted away by much higher-return uses for those assets than building good DAOs.

Evaporative cooling to dryness... and 10y later a WeWork type end game. I hope we can do better than that.

doing social for a finance/investment thing or working for a big tech co trying to get into web3
remember most social-club DAOs are going to be worthless

the highest returns are the friends we make along the way
after a decade generating value for investors in web2, I'm ok not perfectly optimizing for the highest return use case for my assets in the short term if it gives me a chance to build communities and cities of the future

You’re the old exception who’s seen the other way. For people in their 20s this is their first opportunity and they’re far hungrier 🤑than you and me

One of the super powers of DAOs is raising a lot of money quickly, so the ability to pay highly skilled people is there.
Seems like this would only happen if DAOs consistently under-pay for talent which I don’t see happening in the long run. DAOs that pay appropriately will win.
