Every time I read something by a trad socialist cooperativist type on gig economy I get a sense of being told "you just think you're happy/enjoying yourself and thriving in the gig economy, but you're actually very unhappy and exploited. Break out of your false consciousness!"

Classic ecological fallacy. Just because a typical Uber/Lyft/food delivery driver has less income and leisure than their forbears with taxi medallions, doesn’t mean all gig workers are miserable.
