There’s no such thing as a side character anymore. This dude was apparently big in the layer 3 Star Wars universe. L1=9 movies, L2=tv shows, L3 = animated series. I was a bit puzzled by his appearance in the Boba Fett show like I should know who he was.

Gaming group tonight hit a similar realization. One guy called it "clap because you recognize the thing". Which is a fair dig, but . . . I remember universes whose writers couldn't even remember last week. Erring on the side of deeper continuity is a welcome change, I think?

I think Disney is doing test runs for story and character development at L3. Less risk if a character/story isn't popular. If they are popular, then they level up. The latest success of L2 is due to L3 writers, plots, and characters.
