This seems vaguely off to me. I suspect the supposed female words are just more rare overall too (I know all the male words but properly know only a third of the female ones, though I vaguely recognize a few more as kinds of fabric etc)

Words men know but women don't and vice versa. As a man I have to say... are those real words women know? I don't know a single one. I do know quite a few of the male words, but not all. link.springer.com/article/10.375

I’d say many of the “female words” are fairly common in descriptive copy you’re reading about/purchasing womens clothing. I vaguely recognize them from my wife describing things she’s bought but have never seen them used in any mens fashion messaging

It's hard to say if the list as a whole is more rare, but I'd say doulas and espadrilles are more likely to have relevance to a woman's real life than katanas and bosons have to a man's. I still had to look up doula and espadrille to be sure.

Did a quick eyeball and avg calc and I think: LHS words avg (0.67, 0.31) RHS words (0.31, 0.75) But no, I don't believe that >50% men know what the hell taffeta is.
