The woke derangement syndrome moral-panic epidemic elides extent to which this is just kids being unpragmatically utopian kids (with some help from cynical older grifters). They’ll age into healthy pragmatism, and some will horseshoe into redpilldom, but some effects will last.

I kinda think 19-29 age group historically leaning radical left is an adaptive response. It’s how younger lifestage primates learn cooperation, mutualism, collective action etc., while they are weaker and they’re most helpful as a weapons-of-weak.

With individual success and sorting of cohorts into losers/clueless/sociopaths, you get the normal adult distribution by the 30s.
This generation has perhaps been slightly extra successful due to internet tools, but I suspect not as much as some think. Par for the course++

I think it's a minor effect compared to the psychographic shifting. Plus, surviving tough times that others don't need not make you more conservative. It can have the opposite effect -- make you more compassionate etc. I've seen that happen too.
