A conscious rejection of the norm of not showing vulnerability being used as a control mechanism of/by the bourgeoisie I guess 🤔
The conventional response to “are you okay?” is “I’m fine” … one of the strongest phatic speech patterns in English 🤔🤔

Seems to be a signaling thing/shibboleth about as often as it points to an actual grim situation though
